‘Until Dawn’ Movie: Everything We Know
A movie adaptation of the popular 2015 video game ‘Until Dawn’ is on the way. But how will the film version differ from the game? Here’s a rundown of everything we know.
What is ‘Until Dawn’?
Originally released on PlayStation 4 (and soon to be re-released for PS5 and PC), ‘Until Dawn’ is a cinematic horror game where your choices affect the outcome of the story. All characters can survive and all of them can die, depending on the choices you make.
The game’s story follows a group of friends fighting for survival in a remote mountain region, but the film version will follow different characters, suggesting the story could differ drastically.
Who is directing the movie?
‘Until Dawn’ will be directed by David F. Sandberg, who is known for ‘Shazam!’ and ‘Annabelle: Creation’. Sandberg told The Hollywood Reporter that the film “explores the many great subgenres of horror” and that it will feature new characters and appeal to fans of the game as well as newcomers.
Who stars in ‘Until Dawn’?
As of right now, the only returning cast member will be Peter Stormare as the mysterious Dr. Hill. The rest of the cast is as follows:
Maia Mitchell
Odessa A’zion
Ella Rubin
Michael Cimino
Ji-young Yoo
Belmont Cameli
When will it be released?
There is no release date at this time, but the film will reportedly begin shooting in mid-August 2024. A late 2025 release window seems probable.
